Junipers for bonsai
Junipers (genus Juniperus) are aromatic evergreen trees and shrubs in the cypress family, Cupressaceae, with roughly 50 to 70 species found mainly in the Northern Hemisphere. Their young leaves are needle-like, some species bear small scale-like leaves, and the seed cones are fleshy and berry-like. Junipers are very popular for bonsai, and the Chinese juniper and Japanese shimpaku are the two most popular scale-leaved junipers for bonsai.
