Juniperus sabina at 66 years old, 19 by 21 by 21 inches tall, and worked in the jin style, in which chosen branches are stripped back to bare deadwood as a record of age and weather. The savin is an exceptionally tough evergreen with a spreading, creeping manner of growth. Its scale-like foliage is dark green and releases a distinct resinous scent when crushed between the fingers. With maturity the red-brown bark begins to shed in narrow strips along the trunk and limbs. Keep it outdoors.
