About this Large Pre Ficus Retusa Bonsai, Curved Trunk, 8 Years Old (Ficus retusa)
8 years in the growing bed have put real weight into this Ficus retusa, now 16 inches tall and shaped along a curved trunk line. It is offered as pre-bonsai: the basic movement is established, but the branch structure is still open and unrefined, leaving the pruning, wiring and first potting decisions to whoever takes it on. Figs are forgiving of that kind of work, budding back readily on older wood. Grown indoors in a bright spot with steady warmth, it will keep adding the trunk thickness on which finished trees are judged.
