24 years of growth have gone into this dwarf juniper, now 10 by 12 inches with a height of 14 inches. Age of that order tends to show first in the bark and in the taper of the trunk. Juniperus procumbens nana, from Japan, is the evergreen American growers reach for first when they build a bonsai collection, being hardy, long-lasting and remarkably patient with imperfect care.
