This procumbens nana has been in cultivation for 27 years. Overall it occupies 12 by 17 inches and stands 16 inches tall; measured from the soil surface to the apex, the tree itself is 10 inches. The dwarf juniper was selected in Japan and has since become a mainstay of American bonsai benches, being resilient, capable of considerable age, and forgiving of a good deal of neglect. The styling is trained rather than natural, and the tree should be grown outdoors year-round.
