About this Small Fukien Tea Bonsai, Straight Trunk, 6 Years Old (Ehretia microphylla)
A small Fukien tea at 6 years old and 6 to 7 inches tall, worked over a straight upright trunk. The species, Ehretia microphylla, originates in Fujian province, China. Its leaves are dark green and finely scaled to the proportions of the tree. Little white flowers appear without a fixed season and may show at any time of year, later setting red berries that darken as they mature. Warmth suits it, and it performs well as an indoor bonsai where those conditions are easy to provide.
