About this Flowering Fukien Tea Bonsai, Cascade, 14 Years Old (Ehretia microphylla)
Ehretia microphylla hails from the Fujan province of China and is trained here in the cascade style, the trunk reaching 12 inches with the descending branch measuring 12 to 13 inches. It has been in work for 14 years. The foliage is small and dark green, and small white flowers may appear at almost any point in the year, giving way to red berries that darken as they age. This is a species that loves heat and performs very well indoors, where steady warmth and a rootball that is never allowed to parch suit it.
