About this Flowering Tropical Duc De Rohan Azalea Bonsai, 12 Years Old (Southern indica)
'Duc de Rohan' is a Southern Indica azalea, an evergreen that holds its leaves through the year and opens flowers of a warm salmon-pink. Stood outside through spring and into summer, it may draw in birds and butterflies. This plant is 12 years old and stands 12 to 13 inches tall. Azaleas want an acid soil and dislike drying out at the root, so the compost is best kept evenly damp rather than swinging between saturated and bone dry. Bright light without fierce midday sun brings out the best of the bloom.

- Moist — never bone-dry, but never waterlogged. Hates both extremes. Use soft/rainwater; dislikes hard, alkaline tap water
- USDA zones
- 6–9 (most cultivars hardy to roughly 0°F / -18°C; some to -10°F)

- Root rot from overwatering / poorly draining or non-acidic soil
