About this Extra Large Ficus Retusa Bonsai, Curved Trunk, 13 Years Old (Ficus retusa)
Ficus retusa, also called the banyan fig or golden coin ficus, carries small oval leaves of dark green much like those of Ficus microcarpa. The bark runs from grey to reddish and is marked with small horizontal flecks that read almost as tiger striping. This 13-year-old tree stands 17 to 19 inches, has a heavy trunk for its size, and is shaped in the traditional curved-trunk style. Few indoor subjects tolerate as much variation in treatment or lend themselves to as many styles, and figs of this kind give very little trouble.
