Ficus for bonsai

Ficus is a genus of trees, shrubs and vines in the mulberry family, Moraceae, with more than 750 species found throughout the world's tropics. Fig bonsai species share a milky latex sap that leaks from cuts, and in the edible fig the tiny flowers sit inside a hollow fleshy receptacle called the syconium. Ficus is the most popular indoor tree species for bonsai beginners and adapts well to indoor conditions given enough light and stable temperatures.
