About this Medium Flowering Mount Fuji Serissa Bonsai with Raised Roots, 13 Years Old (Serissa foetida)
13 years of training have gone into this Serissa foetida, now roughly 10 to 12 inches tall, with the surface roots deliberately exposed so that the base reads as older and more weathered than the tree's actual age would suggest. The flowers are white, miniature and star-shaped, and this variegated subtropical evergreen, brought in from Japan, produces them freely. Indoor care is uncomplicated, and it is a sound choice for someone growing a first bonsai and learning how the species behaves.
