About this Flowering Ligustrum Bonsai with Curved Trunk-Medium, 16 Years Old (Ligustrum lucidum)
16 years of training show in the curve of this glossy privet's trunk, which now supports a canopy 12 to 13 inches from the soil. Ligustrum lucidum is a Chinese and east Asian species, widely grown for ornament in American gardens. Flowering comes at the turn of spring into summer, in loose heads of tiny white blossom. The species takes indoor conditions comfortably, and its readiness to bud back on older wood means the crown can be cut fairly hard and rebuilt without the tree losing its line. Give it light and even water.
