About this Flowering Ligustrum Bonsai, Curved Trunk, 17 by 25 Inches (Ligustrum lucidum)
Thirty-one years of growth have produced this 12 by 17 by 25 inch Ligustrum lucidum, trained to a curved trunk with the branches settled into tiers and potted in a 12-inch olive green rectangle. Native to China and eastern Asia, it is now planted ornamentally throughout the United States, and its berry has a long record in traditional Chinese medicine as a yin tonic. Clusters of white flowers open in late spring and early summer. Among flowering species it is one of the more reliable indoors.
