About this Flowering Brush Cherry Ball Bonsai, Upright, 19 Years Old (Eugenia myrtifolia)
Eugenia myrtifolia, listed in many references as Syzygium paniculatum and known commonly as Australian brush cherry, carries small evergreen leaves of firm texture and high gloss. Its flowers open white. Given generous light, the foliage takes on red highlights as well. This example has been grown for 19 years and is shaped in an upright ball style, standing 30 inches tall on a 13 by 13 inch base. It does well as an indoor bonsai, where a position close to a bright window will suit it.
