About this Medium Flowering Brush Cherry Bonsai, 9 Years Old (Eugenia myrtifolia)
Eugenia myrtifolia, listed elsewhere as Syzygium paniculatum and known commonly as the Australian brush cherry, makes a neat indoor bonsai. The evergreen leaves are small, firm and glossy, and where the tree receives generous light they take on red highlights. Large, puffy white blooms open through the summer. This one is 9 years old and measures 9 to 10 inches tall, a size that sits comfortably on a windowsill or a side table without demanding much room.
