About this Japanese Green Maple Curved "S" Shape Trunk Bonsai, 8 Years Old (Acer palmatum)
Acer palmatum in its plain green form, trained over 8 years into a curving S-shaped trunk and now 16 to 18 inches tall. It is hardy, undemanding, and belongs outdoors the whole year and looks well on a deck, a patio, or out among garden plants. Give it sun and the leaves colour best, both as they break in early spring and again late in the season. Being deciduous, the tree drops its foliage in autumn and stands bare through winter, which is when the line of that trunk shows to greatest advantage.
