About this Dwarf Sharps Pygme Japanese Maple Bonsai, 16 Years Old (Acer palmatum)
Acer palmatum grows wild over much of Korea, China and Japan, and 'Sharp's Pygmy' is one of its more tightly built dwarf selections. This tree is 16 years old and 15 to 16 inches tall, with the close branching the cultivar is known for. Its leaves run 2 to 5 inches long and are cut into five to seven pointed, serrated lobes, green through the growing months and then turning some mixture of yellow, bronze and red-purple. Branch structure and leaf shape together make it a showy piece for a patio or deck. Keep it outdoors.
