About this Dwarf Sharp's Pygmy Japanese Maple Bonsai, 27 Years Old (Acer palmatum 'Sharps Pygme')
A compact 'Sharp's Pygmy' at 27 years of age, this maple is 15 inches tall and occupies only 9 by 16 inches, so it sits comfortably on an outdoor bench or table. The parent species, Acer palmatum, ranges through Japan, Korea and China. Its leaves measure 2 to 5 inches and are cut into five to seven pointed, serrated lobes, finishing the year in mixed tones of bronze, red-purple and yellow. Dense twigging and the character of the foliage make the piece worth close inspection. Keep it outside on a patio or deck.

This is a living Japanese Maple (Acer palmatum). Before you buy, this is what it will ask of you:
