About this Small Pre Hawaiian Umbrella Bonsai, 3 Years Old (Arboricola schefflera 'Luseanne')
A 3-year-old specimen of Schefflera arboricola 'Luseanne', 12 inches tall, supplied as pre-bonsai. The dwarf Hawaiian umbrella holds its glossy leaflets in the radiating whorls that give the plant its common name, and it copes with lower light levels than most material used for indoor work. In warm, humid conditions the trunks produce aerial roots and fuse together, which is why the species turns up so often in root-over-rock and banyan-style plantings. Being wholly tropical, it needs warm rooms all year and must never be left out through cold weather.

- 10–11 outdoors year-round; treat as indoor elsewhere (tolerates brief 9b dips but no frost)
