About this Flowering Sea Hibiscus Bonsai, 9 Years Old (Hibiscus tiliaceus)

An Australian species placed among the mallows, Hibiscus tiliaceus has foliage that is broad and heart-shaped, and each bloom opens a clear yellow marked by a deep crimson eye before shifting through orange to red over the course of a single day and falling. This tree is 9 years old and stands 14 to 15 inches. It performs very well indoors and must be protected from freezing temperatures. Warmth, generous light and regular water through the growing season suit it, and a plant in good health will keep producing flowers over a long stretch of the year.
