About this Small Chinese Elm Curve Trunk Bonsai, Trained, 8 Years Old (Ulmus parvifolia)
8 years old and standing 10 to 11 inches, this Ulmus parvifolia has been trained over that time into the traditional curved trunk style, the line sweeping rather than upright. Chinese elm is a hardy species with small evergreen foliage, and its habit of producing fine, well-divided branching is the reason it remains a mainstay of the art. Regular pinching through the growing season keeps the twigs short and the profile crisp. It is suited to indoor growing.
Chinese Elm bonsai care
This is a living Chinese Elm (Ulmus parvifolia). Before you buy, this is what it will ask of you:

- Water

- USDA zones

- Main risks
- Main risks, not ranked by any source: waterlogged soil and root rot; low light indoors; moving an indoor tree straight into winter cold
