About this Dwarf English Boxwood Bonsai, 64 Years Old (Buxus semperuirens)
An English boxwood, Buxus sempervirens, at 64 years old and measuring 25 by 29 by 24 inches tall. In the wild the species belongs to the open woodland and rocky hillsides of southern Europe, and that origin shows in its tolerance of lean, exposed ground. The leaves are small and either elliptic or oblong, glossy and dark on the upper face while the underside is a softer yellow-green. Foliage is held through the year, since the species is evergreen. This is an outdoor bonsai and is grown outdoors in every season.
