About this Shimpaku Bonsai, Upright, 7 Years Old (Shimpaku itoigawa)
An upright Shimpaku juniper of the Itoigawa strain, 7 years old and 8 to 9 inches tall. Itoigawa is the most highly prized of the Japanese Shimpaku cultivars, and the reason shows in the foliage, which grows tighter and fuller than other forms, making this the most compact Shimpaku juniper of them all. That density suits small upright work, where pads can be built close to the trunk. Grown outdoors, its soft scale foliage is best pinched by hand rather than cut with shears.
Shimpaku Juniper bonsai care
This is a living Shimpaku Juniper (Juniperus chinensis). Before you buy, this is what it will ask of you:
