About this Medium Norfolk Island Pine Bonsai, 4 Years Old (Araucaria heterophila)
Three young Norfolk Island pines share a single pot here, each 4 years old and standing 9 to 10 inches. Araucaria heterophylla is a cone-bearing conifer of open, airy, tiered habit, its foliage light green when new and darkening with age, and it is among the better known trees of the South Pacific. Warm rooms suit it and it does not object to a degree of dryness, though glaring direct sun is best avoided. The branches on this group have been trimmed by hand, which keeps the tiers looking unforced.
