About this Golden Chinese Juniper Bonsai, 34 Years Old (Juniperus × pfitzeriana 'Old Gold')
34 years of cultivation stand behind this 'Old Gold' Chinese juniper, a broad tree 24 inches tall whose branches occupy a 22 by 25 inch area. The habit is compact and graceful, with ascending branches carrying bronze-gold evergreen foliage that holds its color right through the year. New shoots are tipped in bright golden yellow, and the leaves themselves are scale-like, thin and soft to the touch. Grow it outdoors, in an open position where the foliage color can develop properly.
