About this Medium Flowering Sweet Plum Bonsai, Curved Trunk, 14 Years Old (Sageretia theezans)
Sageretia theezans, the sweet plum, is a tropical evergreen from China and a long-established favourite for growing indoors. Its leaves are tiny, under 3/4", faintly veined, and carry a bronze tint as they unfurl before settling to green. Older bark sheds away to leave a mottled, many-toned trunk. Small pink-white flowers open in spring and give way to little black fruits from summer into autumn. This tree is 14 years old and roughly 10 to 12 inches tall, trained in a curved trunk style that lends the composition a good deal of movement.

- Roughly 9–11 (tender; grown indoors over winter in most of North America/Europe)

- Drying out — leaves and twigs desiccate fast and the whole tree can die quickly; also over-watering/root issues
