About this Flowering Desmodium Bonsai, 12 Years Old (Desmodium unifoliatium)
An uncommon subject, 12 years old and 16 to 17 inches tall. Desmodium unifoliatum produces fragrant purple flowers with a distinctly grape-like scent, and its branches carry large thorns, so a little care is wanted when wiring or trimming. The bark is rough and gnarled, and the surface roots have spread into a broad nebari that gives the base real presence. It prefers full sun with moderate water and moderate feeding. Being tropical, it must be kept away from freezing temperatures, which in most climates means bringing it inside well before the first frost.

This is a living Vietnamese Blue Bell (Trifidacanthus unifoliolatus). Before you buy, this is what it will ask of you:
