About this Dracena Trunk Variegated Bonsai, Braided Trunks, 8 Years Old (Dracaena marginata)
Dracena marginata, which growers know as the Madagascar dragon tree, holds narrow pointed leaves on slender trunks, the foliage carried anywhere from near vertical to almost horizontal. In this variegated form the outer edges of the leaves are striped green and white. Three plants have been grown and braided together, and the braid sets permanently as the stems thicken with age, so the twist stays part of the finished shape. At 8 years old the planting stands 24 inches. It is a very easy indoor subject, asking only for moderate light, warmth and restrained watering.
