Pachira aquatica, 8 years old and 14 to 16 inches tall, with the several trunks woven into the braid this plant is known for. Each stem opens into a spray of up to five light green leaves carried across the top. The Money Tree has a long-standing association with good luck and good fortune, and it is the plant most often chosen for Feng Shui arrangements on the grounds that it creates positive energy. In practical terms it is resilient, undemanding and unusually tolerant both of dim rooms and of going dry between waterings.
