About this Top Point White Cedar Bonsai, 28 Years Old (Chamaecyparis thyoides)
28 years in training, this Chamaecyparis thyoides 'Top Point' measures 21 by 24 inches and stands 28 inches tall. The selection is unusually compact and narrow in habit, and it bears two kinds of foliage on the one plant, some needle-like and some scale-like, which gives the canopy a varied texture at close range. Individual needles run only 1/16" to 1/8". Summer color is a muted green, and cold weather draws a purple flush across the whole tree. A hardy outdoor evergreen, it should be kept outside throughout the year.
