About this Bonsai Spherical Knob Cutter
This cutter measures 8 inches overall and is the tool to reach for when a trunk knob or a stray root needs taking back flush. The ball shaped head is where the name comes from: instead of a flat cut it removes a shallow, circular hollow of wood, and that concave wound closes over quickly and leaves very little scarring behind. Work in several small bites rather than one deep grab, and wipe the blades down between trees so you are not carrying anything from one pot to the next.
