About this Rock Planting Slab, Medium 18" x 10.5" x 1"
Cast from glass-fiber-reinforced concrete rather than fired clay, this flat slab is built for saikei and rock-planting work rather than a single trunk in soil. At 18 by 10.5 by 1 inch, it gives enough surface area to arrange several trees, moss, and small stones into a miniature landscape, while three drainage holes and a raised lip around the planting field keep water and growing medium contained. Concrete slabs like this hold up outdoors in a way glazed ceramic often cannot, and the low profile keeps the composition looking like a natural outcrop rather than a container.
