A 13-year-old dwarf arborvitae, Thuja occidentalis 'Bobozam', measuring 11 by 13 inches with a height of 14 inches. The variety is naturally globe-shaped, so its outline comes from the plant's own habit rather than from heavy pruning. Evergreen foliage is dense and finely divided, rich green in tone, and holds that colour year-round instead of bronzing off in cold weather. Keep it outside. Beyond sensible watering and a position where the rounded silhouette can be appreciated, this dwarf conifer asks for very little.
