About this Mr. Bowling Ball Arborvitae Bonsai, 13 Years Old, 13 Inches Tall (Thuja occidentalis 'Bobozam')
Thuja occidentalis 'Bobozam', sold as Mr. Bowling Ball, is a dwarf arborvitae that grows into a rounded shape without being cut to it. This plant is 13 years old and nearly as wide as it is tall, at 11 by 12 inches with a height of 13 inches. The foliage is fine and lacy, rich green, densely held, and it keeps that colour reliably through all four seasons. As an evergreen conifer it belongs outdoors, where it holds its form with very little intervention.

- 5–9 (very cold-hardy; the species is hardy from zone 3)

- Root rot from waterlogged soil, and desiccation (drying out completely / winter wind burn)
