About this Medium Lemon Cypress Bonsai, 9 Years Old (Cupressus macrocarpa)
A selected form of the Monterey Cypress, Cupressus macrocarpa, grown here for roughly 9 years and standing 12 to 13 inches. The foliage is fine in texture and a vivid yellow-green, held in a narrow columnar habit that broadens as the tree matures. Brushing a hand across it releases a sharp, unmistakable lemon fragrance, which is what most people remember about the plant. This conifer does well kept indoors. A red holiday bow measuring 3 by 4 inches accompanies the tree during December.
