About this Flowering Premna Bonsai, Exposed Roots, 26 Years Old (Premna obtusifolia)

26 years old, 9" x 9" x 16" tall Premna is the genus of flowering plants in the mint family. Premna is a tropical tree often used for bonsai in Thailand, Philippines, Taiwan, and Indonesia. In the United States, we especially like it for bonsai as it has few pest problems and the leaves reduce very nicely. We also like it for bonsai because of the unique texture of the trunk. Does very well indoor

Premna bonsai care

This is a living Premna (Premna microphylla). Before you buy, this is what it will ask of you:

Outdoors in warm weather; indoors in cold climates: keep above 50°F (10°C)
Light
Bright light; a south-facing window indoors, full sun to part shade outdoors
Water
WET: vigorous and thirsty; needs plenty of water and must not dry out completely
USDA zones
8 to 11 (tropical/subtropical; not frost-hardy)
#1 cause of death
Cold damage (exposure below ~50°F) and letting the soil dry out completely; root rot from waterlogging is a secondary risk
