About this Small Flowering Fruiting Dwarf Pomegranate Bonsai, 3 Years Old (Punica granatum 'Nana')
At 3 years old and standing about 7 inches, this dwarf pomegranate is a compact subtropical from Asia. Trumpet-shaped blossoms in bright orange-red open through the warm months, and by autumn some give way to little round fruits in the same shade, sized to suit the tree rather than the kitchen. The foliage is dark green washed with bronze, and growth runs from slow to moderate, which helps keep the twigging tight. Give it the fullest sun available. Semi-deciduous by nature, it may shed part of its leaves; being frost-tender, it is wintered indoors in cold regions.
