About this European Cypress Evergreen Bonsai, 7 Years Old (Chamaecypari iawsoniana 'Ellwoodii')
Approximately 7 years old and 11 to 12 inches tall, this Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Ellwoodii' is an outdoor plant that can be grown singly or massed in groups. The variety is associated with the northern Mediterranean. It will put up with a temporary spell indoors, which is why it is so often pressed into service as a bonsai Christmas tree through the month of December before returning outside until the following year. The foliage is fine in texture, with green, grey and blue all present in the same spray. Treat the indoor stay as an exception, not a routine.
