About this Bonsai Decorative Crushed Shale Top of Soil Dressing
Kiln dried shale, crushed for use as a top dressing and supplied in a 3.2 ounce bag measuring 2.0 by 4.0 inches. Scattered over the surface of the pot it hides bare soil, absorbs water, holds moisture in and adds to the look of the planting. The colour runs across three tones, grey, brown and red, so it reads as natural ground rather than a flat uniform layer. Apply it after changing soil at repotting time, and top it up as needed when the surface starts showing through.
