About this Fabian Aralia Bonsai, 12 Years Old (Polyscias scutellaria)
Polyscias scutellaria 'Fabian' is presented here as a stump form, 12 years old and 18 to 19 inches tall. Its leaves are large, glossy and dark green with scalloped margins, curving slightly outward and tinged purple beneath. The columnar build draws the eye upward, useful in a room that wants some vertical movement. Feng shui tradition holds that a Fabian Aralia stump lets love, energy and calmness circulate through a room. Upkeep is straightforward and the plant grows well in either full or partial sun, indoors.
